The Solo Batch

Build your one-person company in four weeks.

Y Combinator’s batch, Demo Day and founder network, rebuilt for people building alone with AI. Free to join. No equity. You start the week you sign up.

Founding Batch begins Monday, November 9. Live sessions Tuesdays at 6pm Pacific. Demo Day is Wednesday, December 9.

Smaller is bigger.

A team used to be the only way to get leverage. Now one person with the right systems can quote, follow up, book, bill and deliver like a company of ten.

The Batch helps you build that, one offer and one buyer at a time, with Nick working beside you and a group moving at the same pace.

Four weeks. One live launch.

Two to four hours of focused work a week, plus one live group session with Nick on Tuesdays at 6pm Pacific. These are the dates for the Founding Batch.

  1. Week 1

    Idea to offer

Pick the buyer, the problem, the offer and the price. Run your first proof move.

  2. Week 2

    Foundation

Set up your website, accounting and business bank account together, live.

  3. Break

    Thanksgiving week

No session. Keep running your proof move if you can.

  4. Week 3

    Customer path

Page, payment and delivery. Build the outreach list and start real conversations.

  5. Week 4

    Launch

Your offer goes live. Then you show what happened at Demo Day on Wednesday, December 9.

No waiting for a start date.

Sign up today and you begin this week. The group grows around you.

Join any day

Sign up, then book your 30-minute kickoff call straight onto Nick’s calendar. Week 1 starts right after.

Tuesdays at 6pm Pacific

Everyone in the Batch joins the same weekly video session, whatever week they’re on. People further along help the people just starting.

Demo Day every month

Finish all four weeks and you present at the next Demo Day. It’s public and recorded, so your launch gets an audience.

Demo Day is a showcase, not a contest.

Five minutes each: the idea, the proof move, and what actually happened. A first customer counts. A first sale counts. Honest lessons count too.

There are no judges and no prizes. Finishing is the standard. Everyone who finishes gets a Demo Day spot and priority for Incubator seats.

Start with six questions.

Two minutes. You get your starter profile and the one proof move to run this week. Then you’re in.

  • No idea yet? That’s what the questions are for.
  • Already have one? Skip ahead and tell Nick about it.
Question 1 of 6
Where are you starting from?

The Batch is free. You pay for your own tools.

In Week 2 we set up your website, accounting and business bank account with you. You pay for those tools directly, and we start on free tiers wherever they exist.

Some tools we recommend may pay Solo Combinator a referral fee when you sign up through our link. That’s part of how the Batch stays free. It never costs you more, we only recommend tools we’d use ourselves, and you’re always welcome to bring your own.

Nick Martin, founder of Solo Combinator

Led by someone building this way.

Nick runs HYR Pools, a pool service company in Las Vegas, as a small owner-led operation with systems and AI handling the busywork. He built the service-report app his own techs use.

Lead response time
From a day or two down to minutes
Evenings back
At least two hours a day once spent on quotes and bookkeeping

These are results from Nick’s own business, not a promise about yours. Batch results will be published here as founders finish, with their permission.

Questions people ask first.

Why is it free?

Fair question. Some founders will want more one-to-one help, and that’s what the Launch Plan and the Incubator are for. Some tools we set up may pay us a referral fee. If neither is ever you, the four weeks are still yours.

Do I need a business idea?

No. The six questions give you a starter profile and a proof move, and Week 1 turns that into a buyer, a problem, an offer and a price.

How much time does it take?

Plan on two to four hours of focused work a week, plus the weekly live session. If you miss a session, the recording and the group chat keep you moving.

How many people are in a Batch?

There’s no cap on the group. What’s limited is Nick’s one-to-one time, which is why the Launch Plan and Incubator have their own sign-up.

Can you guarantee customers or revenue?

No. Demand has to be tested with real people. The Batch makes sure you run that test quickly, with a real offer, and learn from what happens.
